The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is known by the vast quantity of species of plants that serve as home to thousands of animals. This reserve is distinguished for being an important area of biological conservation worldwide. Nowdays it is administered by the Tropical Scientific Center located in Monteverde, which takes charge of its preservation with funds obtained thanks to the tourists and the Costa Rican government.
