Sky Trek Monteverde

The Sky Trek and Sky Tram tour in Monteverde is one the main attractions of the area, since it combines the adrenaline with the amazing panoramic views of the cloud forest and the Nicoya Gulf.

Before beginning the tour, the guides will greet you and will make jokes while they equip you with the proper equipment, thus allowing you to relax and to remove a little of the tension. When the group is ready we will continue to the Sky Tram, for a trip of around 15 minutes amid the forest until arriving to the first platform. They are 800 meters through the tram, where you will appreciate the greatness of the forest, as well as the Volcanoes; Arenal, Tenorio, Miravalles and Orosi (on clear days). You will also feel the cold wind blowing in your face, it's at that moment you will realize that the tour is an entire adventure.

Upon arriving at the first platform, the guides will give you time to stretch out and to take some pictures of your friends and the landscape. If you are not able to continue with the tour, you can return with a guide via tram. The trip will be glide you through 10 cables over treetops, going from 35 to 770 meters long, at speeds up to 60 Km. /h., all with totally security and an innovative braking system. On each platform you will be able to take pictures of the landscape and the participants. Your guide has undergone extreme training; you can rest assure that you are under good care.

On the last platform you will have the opportunity to observe on clearly days, a really nice panoramic view towards the area of San Carlos, Puntarenas and Guanacaste (Gulf of Nicoya). There is only a last cable to fly, then a walk through a small trail until arriving to the reception area, where the guides will remove your equipment and will ask you about your experience.

Important Notes

Transportation NOT included. Add $5 per person (round trip).
Add $12 per transportation service from Mirador Lodge or Vista Verde Lodge. (Up to 7 persons, round trip).
In the event of acquiring the transport, the pick up time at the hotel will be from 45 to 30 minutes before the tour.
Children rates apply from 8 to 12 years old.
For security, children under 8 years old cannot take the tour.
People over 100 kg. Weight (217 pounds) must be evaluated by the technical staff to determine if they can take the tour.
